But what are they going to add? Their re-release of “moonrise kingdom” was not noticeably better imo. “Repo Man” wasn’t as good as the eureka blu-ray from Europe. Scenes were too dark. In the context of its genre, the teen film, as well as the 1980s film era, ‘The Breakfast Club’ is absolutely an important film. It’s a film I’ve always thought belonged in the collection, so am pleased it finally has its place (irrespective of existing DVD & BluRay releases). This movie has not aged well.. Such a strange choice for Criterion. The Breakfast Club sincerely yours dear Mr Vernon we accept the fact shirt As mentioned, done more for sales than actual masterpiece cinema. Good movie all the same, but not Criterion good.
Have a nice time in here
Its not even in my top 1000 movies. Again, i am not saying its a bad movie, its just aged HORRIBLY. I have watched it many times in my life, but whereas i could be forgiving when i was younger, the older i get the more the flaws become apparent in movies like this. And the performances feel very of the time and Hughsian. Sure it has been done as a play as its structure is the same. It does define the 80s. Style over substance with lashings of teenage angst set to a very “of the time” soundtrack. Many agree with me. And of the many who dont, well many of them probably havnt rewatched it in a long time and simply have fond memories. In the last 10 years i have probably sat through it as many times, and probably a few more, and it gets more rust every time i watch it. I didnt piss on it, i just pointed out that its a flawed movie. But then most are. It does get points for having music by The Creation and any movie with Brian Cox can never be truly bad. He automatically gives a movie 5/10 for simply being in it
