I was thinking the same thing. This is a prime example of the need for Medicare for All, and Universal Basic Income. UBI was first proposed by the Republicans, so don’t blast me for being a progressive Bernie supporter, which I proudly am! We could do it! People needing to give up their children to adoption because they can’t afford to keep them? Our values as a nation are really perverse! so why did the baby not get Medicaid? I had 2 births that were planned birth center births that ended up in the hospital. I had to fill out stuff, and the babies were signed up (technically) My sister and I talk shit about you shirt for Medicaid even though we did not WANT (and never used) it. (Husband has good insurance.) That’s exactly what I was thinking!

Love nurses and so thankful the baby will be cared for and loved by her family, but the baby had a family and medical expenses kept him from knowing his own family forever. I am actually saddened instead of uplifted by this story.. That is not the only case a person fall in love with an older partner. Love and age can be blind. Now that I have made this statement their are both men and women who take advantage of marring an older person,but in the end they will paid a much bigger price.
