I’m not saying lie, I’m saying wait until children are old enough to have perspective. My 5-year-old didn’t know how to process history. LGBT Snoopy and Woodstock In a world where you can be anything be kind shirt She was taught, in school, not at home, about racism. That’s been my point all along. Don’t lie, don’t tell, just wait until the kids are old enough to understand.

It’s weird how us “blacks” are told to forget the history what happened to our ancestors but not reminded about 911…. point I’m trying to make.. slavery still exists they just got smarter about it… all of us are slaves working for Lil money… but acknowledging the damage and place it put us in… we didn’t ask to be here in the states… LGBT Snoopy and Woodstock In a world where you can be anything be kind shirt and funny how in history books we are labeled as a minority… they don’t speak the truth bout that statue if liberty the true meaning of that.. but the chains are still around the statue feet… watch hidden colors and do your own research… but my child no matter how old she is she will be taught the true history and know that it shouldn’t matter the race u treat people the same

That’s not true. MLK goes (obviously) hand in hand with the civil rights movement, and that was discussed as well. It was explained to her that “blacks and whites” were segregated in all the ways they were, and she had no idea how to process it or how it would, should, or shouldn’t effect her 5-year-old life. It was awful. I don’t know if that’s even a legitimate concern, as at some point, your baby has to understand that these things happen, at no point in their life would they find it less shocking. Some of us don’t have the privilege of being white, and NOT being aware of racism. Mixed children don’t get the luxury of thinking fairness exists because from the moment our mothers are seen with us we see the way people of color are treated.
