I’m sorry to hear it. It’s not fair. I have heard of others with similar issues I am his voice he is my heart autism awareness shirt when kids turn into teens and suddenly seem ‘okay’ like they suddenly don’t need therapies, people forget they may only seem okay BECAUSE of therapies.

make little to no difference for our daughter because she’s so low functioning she’s not able to learn or retain in a therapy type setting. I find much more success focused on daily living in the home than any external therapy. And because she’s got a level 3 diagnosis we will most likely be offered therapy I am his voice he is my heart autism awareness shirt by NDIS instead of in home support which would be more helpful. 46 and only got on a disability support. had to deal with unemployment services that only keep kicking me off because i could not for feel whatever they wanted me to do. could only one thing at a time. not good enough and would not help me with anything. struggle are real
I have always explained to people of how I see my child who has Autism in a positive way. When I hear (ohhhh you poor thing, it must be hard) I always say back…..no it’s not hard I don’t have time for hard, I only have time for love, hugs and the drive to never give up. Big HUGS to you all I have 3 children, one has autism one has borderline autism and one has possible autism…. but if I had another child without autism I wouldn’t describe that child as “typical” because what does that say about my 3 on the spectrum? That they aren’t “typical” children?
I’m fascinated that haters can’t even allow a single comment thread about love to exist without chiming in and telling everyone else how bad they are at parenting. I shouldn’t be spending time responding, since there is 0% chance of you listening and 100% chance of you responding with more hate. But, for what it’s worth, I definitely did NOT tell you that you have a child with a disease that needs to be cured. My son has autism and I’m not searching for a cure for him. He’s amazing. I love him just the way that he is. So why on earth would I try to change YOUR child? You are their parent, not me, so it’s up to you how you raise them.
What’s happening here is that you are taking something very indirect and you are personalizing it to your situation in a very negative way. Your issue is with neurologists and doctors and large autism organizations like Autism Speaks. These are the sources that 99% of autistic parents go to for information when their child shows symptoms and are in need of a diagnosis. These organizations are the ones suggesting aba therapy, speech therapy, searching for what causes autism, any potential cures & treatments, as well as for the diseases associated in over 80% of autism disorder patients.
