In kerala, we have “ente maram project”(my tree project) for making children aware of planting trees and ecosystem with respect to world environmental day, each student is provided with a tree plant and they can plant thier tree where they needs.. the aim is not to reforest on this basis. The aim is for kids to learn everything, Flamingo a wee bit irish today shirt from caring for plants to farming to the importance of a tree. At plant stage they will still bloom, a kid can still learn to water it regularly and give it fertiliser. De weed it if needed. Expanding agriculture may be good as well for the area. Yes reforestation is a good effort it will bring back wildlife to the area but fruit trees and other edible plants would be good too to keep the people alive and the animals as well.

Which tree species is this I have seen this tree in action they are very hardy and can take over the the native species with out much needed care as for other plants, this tree was planted in an area of few acres park, and with in 2 years 40 % of all surviving trees are of the same species, so I think they don’t even need charcoal coating just plant a few and gradually they will take over the land It looks like mimosa and black locust. Both of which are considered invasive in certain parts of the world, though they might be native to the areas in the video. I believe they should take great care in what they are planting. Side note: many plants sold as ornamentals can quickly become invasive and detract value from forested land.
