That is a great program, but doesn’t work for every dyslexic… i used Orrin Gillingham for my son, and it was great, but had to use sing, spell, read write for my daughter, she short circuited on Faith can move mountains shirt the O.G. agree completely. The problem is the public school system doesn’t want to use OG because they don’t understand the benefits nor take on the task of retraining their teachers. OG would help ensure no student is left behind My grandson was just diagnosed with profound dyslexia in every category. I will take this advice and pray we can get him to live a normal and fulfilling life! “Geeky” kids are also marginalized. Faith can move mountains shirt My son hated sports and always had his nose in a book Or on the ground looking for fossils. He took lots of abuse from kids and teaches did nothing to help. Fast forward 25 years and he’s doing great professionally but has difficulty trusting g friends. Being different is hard!

I was a known nerd in school. Always with my head in a book etc. I’m an now the mother of a dyslexic child. The struggle is not the same. It’s not just kids, they struggle internally with fears of inferiority, anxiety about reading and spelling etc. It’s heartbreaking. My son is like yours! He would read his library books on the bus home, always be the last one to be picked, but so smart. I call him my little Einstein and just do what he is meant to do and not worry about others. He doesn’t talk much at school and is very shy. His third grade teacher told me he was defiant obstructive. She had no clue! There is not a defiant or obstructive bone in his body. He just didn’t want to talk to her As I read your comment, it sounded like my son’s story. He was called “abnormal “ by his First grade teacher. Now, he received his MS from a well respected university and signed a contract with a high salary. So, all thise bullies from the past taught him lessons which have helped him succeed in the present.
