While in college I was fired from a local radio station and the program director said, “You need to find a different career goal.” Years later when I was managing a large radio station I visited that city and discovered he was selling insurance. Years after that I discovered the actor Gordon Jump had been fired from that same station and ironically went on the star Bus driving is not an easy life but it’s my life shirt in the hit TV show WKRP. It’s fascinating to me how many people who have been told, “You can’t…” go on and accomplish their original goal.

My college professor my freshmen year told me I wasn’t good enough to be a professional musician AND music educator.
