We have a walk in clinic down the hall. It really does help! Being a nurse is weird I can go through traumatic shit shirt My son has asthma so if I’m not totally sure he needs emergency treatment I go to the clinic first and they have sent us to the er. Unfortunately it closes at 7 PM but it helps.

UK hospitals have never heard of triage nurses? And having a fast-track or urgent care clinic attached to handle appropriate cases??? And thanks for the “bouncer” title…..really? Way to encourage/promote appropriate level care. We should do this in the Us! We have thousands of urgent cares but people pack in to the er because they dont have to pay if they dont have insurance. They are billed later and just dont pay. Being a nurse is weird I can go through traumatic shit shirt People with Medicaid and Medicare also come to the er for everything. And there is widespread abuse of the er by frequent fliers looking for pain meds! It’s a shame. And it causes the cost of healthcare to go up for us all. On the other hand I hear patients say they tried to get an appointment with their doctor but couldn’t get one for 2 weeks. No easy answers!
Have a nice time
The thing to realize about this story is it is based in the U.K. with their socialized medicine. There are places in this country that are still underserved with practitioners. There are so few doctors and even fewer taking ACA patients that I end up going to urgent care more and more if ill because my doctor can’t see people same day usually, more likely 2-3 days out for illness. It’s called screening. BUT, the patient MUST be assessed at triage by an RN and then follow a set of protocols that the medical board of that particular hospital has agreed upon. I have done this at several facilities.
